Customer Service Representative

Main Purpose of Job:

To track and trace all shipments and provide updates to customers in a timely manner.

Reports To:  

Customer Service Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To handle all aspects of the company’s operations from phone calls to dealing with carriers
  • To track and trace current loads
  • Inform the customer the whereabouts of their freight via email or phone
  • To be responsible for the movement of loads within the CS-1 Transportation customer base
  • Collect POD from carriers
  • Add carrier packets and update profiles
  • Update shippers and consignee profiles
  • To assist in saving documentation, customs docs and facilitating the docs to carriers
  • Phone calls to deal with carriers
  • Entering new loads
  • Negotiating rates with carriers

Additionally, you will be trained how to dispatch loads and cross trained as a dispatcher in the event of absenteeism, which could include:

  • Phone calls to deal with carriers
  • Entering new loads
  • Negotiating rates with carriers
  • The movement of loads within the CS-1 Transportation’s customer base

Qualifications:

Acceptable typing skills, multi-tasking skills, able to prioritize effectively, proficient with Microsoft office, able to adapt to new software, excellent communication skills, excellent problem solving skills, resourceful, takes pride in the job.

Pay Range

Starting at $42,900 annually

Working Conditions:

Working indoors, office environment.

Long hours of sitting down at a desk.

Vision and Hearing Requirements:

Long hours of staring at computer screen, listening to phone calls, colleagues, etc.

Psychological Demands:

Able to make quick decisions, interpret data and problem solve.
