CS-1 Transportation Inc. is a strong believer in social responsibility by giving back to our community. Every month we donate $1 for every transaction to a charity selected by our teams.
The charity selected this month is Helping Hands Jamaica Foundation.
Helping Hands Jamaica Foundation (HHJF) is a fantastic North America-based organization that is committed to improving the lives of children, young adults, and their communities. Their mission is to create a world-class education system by investing in infrastructure, health, wellness, and leadership. Since 2006, HHJF has built 27 new schools across Jamaica, completed 2 restoration projects on HHJF schools, and supported over 60 additional projects, including hurricane relief.
Hurricane Melissa was an incredibly powerful, unpredictable, and devasting tropical cyclone that became the third-most intense Atlantic hurricane on record. On October 28, 2025, Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica as a catastrophic Category 5 storm.
The extremely strong winds and heavy rainfall left a path of destruction across the western and southern parts of the island, demolishing or damaging more than 122,000 dwellings, knocking down power and communication lines, destroying crops, flooding rivers, washing away roadways, and triggering deadly landslides.
The destruction has made it challenging to deliver aid and restore essential services. As of mid-November, nearly 2,500 people in Jamaica are still in shelters. Helping Hands Jamaica Foundation is accepting donations to assist with hurricane relief.
