The charity selected this month is Spinal Cord Injury Ontario

For our employee Matthew and his family, Spinal Cord Injury Ontario became a lifeline during a incredibly difficult time. Matthew’s sister suffer a life-changing injury.

“When both my parents on disability and my sister unable to work for over a year, we were struggling not just financially, but emotionally as well. We felt overwhelmed and uncertain about how we could possibly afford the medical equipment, care, and accessibility support she needed,” Matthew shared.

“SCI Ontario stepped in when we felt completely lost. They provided not only financial assistance and resources, but also guidance and genuine compassion during one of the hardest times in our lives. Most importantly, they gave our family hope and reminded us that we were not alone. The support they offered is something we will always be grateful for, which is why I am so passionate about helping them continue their work. Organizations like SCI Ontario make a profound difference for families facing unimaginable challenges, especially those with even fewer resources than we had.”

Spinal Cord Injury Ontario supports people with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities across Ontario as they navigate life after injury. Through peer support, service navigation, education, advocacy, employment supports, and practical resources, they help people and families find their way forward, build independence, and stay connected to community.

Their mission is to provide peer experiences, education, advocacy, and ongoing support services for people impacted by spinal cord injuries. Donations help ensure these essential programs and services remain available to the 36,000 people in Ontario who need them.
